Alderley Edge Symphony Orchestra The Orchestra has been part of music-making in Alderley Edge for more than a century, having its origins in amateur musicians who also played an influential role in the early days of the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester.. It was first set up in 1922.
The orchestra's President and chief conductor is Richard Howarth, the former leader of Manchester Camerata and guest leader of many other top orchestras in the UK. We engage professional conductors and a professiona;l leader,
OUR CONCERTS
We give four public concerts each year, at either Alderley Edge Festival Hall or Alderley Edge Methodist Church. and In addition to the public concerts, the orchestra organises a major annual Workshop Day for players from all over the region
We would be very pleased to welcome more string players to the orchestra, especially violins and violas. We rehearse on Thursday evenings in the Alderley Edge Scout Hut in Talbot Rd, Alderley Edge from 7:45pm to 10pm .
